Job Description
Established in 1998, St. John’s International Airport Authority (SJIAA) is a private, not-for-profit corporation that exists to provide a safe and efficient transportation facility that is a catalyst for economic growth at Newfoundland and Labrador’s premier gateway. Approximately 70 per cent of all non-resident visitors who travel by air to and from the province do so through the St. John’s International Airport.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure and Planning, the Manager, Infrastructure will provide both technical and managerial leadership to the electrical and building maintenance departments to ensure the execution of preventive maintenance and to effectively respond to breakdowns and disruptions. The Manager will coordinate the planning and delivery of the small capital sustaining program and will provide operational and maintenance input into the larger overall capital program. The Manager will establish consultative working relationships with key stakeholders; work closely with internal and external customers; and contribute technical insight and leadership expertise to the business planning process that will maintain and improve the performance of SJIAA as a world class international airport.
QUALIFICATIONS
As the ideal candidate, you bring at least seven years supervisory experience in maintenance functions, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering and eligibility for membership in the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL). You have the demonstrated ability to plan and organize, develop and manage budgets, and effectively lead and motivate a diverse workforce of experienced technical craftspeople. You have a track record in successfully planning and managing projects in an operating environment. Experience working with preventive and predictive maintenance in a structured computerized maintenance management environment is an asset. Your presentation skills are well developed, and you are a superb communicator, both verbally and in written form.
