***NEW*** Applications for Engineers Canada’s 2024 scholarships are now open! Each year, Engineers Canada offers scholarships in three categories: undergraduate engineering students, engineers studying at the graduate level in engineering, and engineers studying at the graduate level in an area other than engineering. In total, Engineers Canada awards 14 scholarships totaling $92,000 to engineering students and professional engineers returning to university. The deadline for applications is March 8, 2024 and scholarship recipients will be announced in June. Click here for more information.
***NEW*** Call for volunteers. PEGNL’s Connections East group are looking for additional volunteers. The group formed by volunteer engineers and geoscientists, promote professional development, networking, and social opportunities for the license holders in their district. Volunteers are required to aid the existing opportunities being offered throughout 2024. Please email east@connectionsnl.ca to express interest in volunteering.
***NEW*** The Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) Scholarships encourage the study of geophysics and related geosciences in universities around the world. The SEG Scholarship application window is open until March 1, 2024. Thanks to the generosity of its donors, SEG offers a range of different scholarship opportunities. Leadership Opportunity: Engineers Canada announces search for a new Chief Executive Officer. For over 80 years, Engineers Canada, in concert with the nation’s 12 engineering regulators, has worked on behalf of the provincial and territorial associations that regulate engineering practice and license the country’s 300,000 members of the engineering profession. Women of STAC Bursary Fund, 2024 Application Period now open.
Awarded each year to select women, the Bursary Fund, provides financial support to enable the pursuit of training, professional development, and/or academic programs for women in the telecommunications field. Deadline to apply is February 26, 2024.

***NEW*** To mark the International Day for Women and Girls in Science, and recognize all underrepresented genders in science, Edgewise Environmental, Whale Seeker, and Northern EDGE Lab are collaboratively hosting a virtual screening of the film "Picture a Scientist". Geoscientists Canada has purchased a 2-year license extension to Geologize’s critically acclaimed course ‘Practical Geocommunication’. This purchase will provide a further 2 years FREE access (to Dec 31, 2025) to our members. The 10-hr Practical Geocommunication course provides valuable communication tips and strategies for members of both professions. Log on to the member portal, then click Events in the blue bar to find more details and to register for the course.
Climate Risk Institute is offering multiple courses as part of the Infrastructure Resilience Professional Credentialling program, which is designed to equip infrastructure professionals with the necessary knowledge and tools to assess and manage future climate impacts.

Join Engineers Canada at the 2024 30 by 30 Conference: Turning Knowledge into Action for Gender Equity in Engineering. This year’s conference consists of a three- hour virtual session on April 24, as well as an in-person event on May 22 in Winnipeg, MB. The virtual session is open to everyone, including equity, diversity, and inclusion champions, engineers, engineering employers, engineering educators, engineering students, and engineering regulators. The session will involve a reflection on the progress made, and opportunities for growth within engineering workplaces. Learn more and register here.
Women in Resource Development Corporation is offering a virtual workshop, Diversity, Inclusion & You, which provides participants with practical and foundational knowledge about diversity and inclusion.
