Fees & Payment Information
Annual Membership and Permit Holder fees are a mandatory requirement for registration under the Engineers and Geoscientists Act, 2008 (Section 11(b)). Fees for a calendar year are due December 31 of the previous year.
Note: If fees are unpaid by this date, the licensed member or permit is suspended, and a 15% reinstatement fee is imposed.

- EIT/GIT applying within 6 months after convocation from an engineering or geoscience post-secondary program (Undergraduate/Graduate Studies) may have the Application fees and CBA fees waived
- Not applicable to Professionals or Limited Licensees transferring from other provinces, or to new Limited License Applicants, or to Permit to Practice Applicants.

- Annual fees are prorated by 50% for new registrants who become licensed after June 30
- EIT/GIT who have had application fees waived for applying within 6 months after convocation, may have their Annual Fees waived for the billing year in which their application is approved, provided the delay is through no fault of their own.

What is the deadline for submission of renewal Fees and professional development reports?
Renewal fees of individual license holders and Permit to Practise holders are due on December 31 each year. Professional development reports for individual license holders are also due on December 31 each year. Invoices are typically issued online in early November and individual and corporate license holders are notified by email. Please note that no other invoice will be issued.
A reinstatement fee of 15% of fees payable will be charged on January 01, and the license/permit will be suspended if all renewal requirements are not met.

What methods of payment does PEGNL accept?
Payment are made online with Visa, MasterCard, Amex or Visa Debit.

Who is eligible to have application fees waived?
- Current MITs applying for Professional Licensure.
- New EIT/GIT applicants applying within 6 months of receiving their degrees at convocation.

Do I have to include annual fees/stamp fees with application fees?
No, you’ll be charged annual fees after your application is approved.

Who can request Fees Abatement?
- Unemployed Members may be eligible.
- Maternity/Parental Members on maternity or parental leave may be eligible.
- Full-time Education Professional Members who are enrolled in full-time educational programs in engineering, geoscience, business, science, education, or other may be eligible.
- Health/Disability Professional Members who, due to ill health or a disability, are not earning income from employment, may be eligible for 100% waiver.
- Fee abatement can be requested in the Member Portal.

How is Professional Development related to License Renewal?
Registration renewal is contingent upon compliance with PEGNL’s Professional Development Program (PDP) which requires that you file a record of the previous year’s activities. Please see more details HERE
If you do not file your PD by December 31, your license will be suspended, and you will be charged a 15% Reinstatement Fee.
