***NEW*** Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO) published its third article supporting PGO's 25th anniversary article series. The article is titled "Canada's Reputation on the World Stage of Mining: Drawing the Best and Brightest from Around the World". This article was prepared by a committee of volunteers from PGO working to plan a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Professional Geoscientists Act on June 6, 2025. AMAL Unite & Empower are looking for Engineers and Geoscientists to volunteer for their Connector Program. The Connector Program is a simple yet highly effective networking program that puts newcomers directly in touch with local business professionals, civil servants and community leaders - people who are in the habit of making introductions and connecting other to opportunities. Camp 20 invites engineers to attend the 2025 Calling of an Engineer Ceremony to be held April 25, 6:30 pm at Holy Heart Theatre, Bonaventure Ave., St. John’s.  Pre-registration at https://camp20.ironring.ca/register/guests is required, and each registered guest will receive a ticket for admission.  Only ticket holders will be admitted to the ceremony.

***NEW*** SPE Atlantic Canada Section is hosting a Distinguished Lecturer Guest on Monday April 14th from 12:00 to 1:PM at Co. Innovation Centre, 710 Torbay Rd. (Suite A), St. John’s.  The topic is “Pathway for Recovering Valuable Elements of Interest from Subsurface Brines and Oilfield Produced Waters” by Kyle Muray of Murray GeoConsulting, LLC.  Registration and more information can be found at SPE Distinguished Lecture - Dr. Kyle E. ***NEW*** A global partnership between the PMI Chapters of Ireland and Newfoundland & Labrador, brought together international expertise in offshore energy and project management to present the first construction event of the year "From Grid to Growth – Offshore Energy Projects", during which the future of offshore energy and its impact on growth and innovation are explored. This event may have interest to anyone interested in the future of offshore energy and project manager and engineers working in the energy sector. The recording of this event is available here.


***NEW*** Engineers Canada has identified six podcasts that engineers and engineering students may find informative, which includes podcasts led by Canadian engineering firms and engineering departments at Canadian universities. Registration is open for an expanded version of NAMS Canada's Professional Certificate in Asset Management Planning course. The training covers essential asset management planning concepts while emphasizing climate resilience, equity, and green infrastructure. Participants will prepare a draft asset management plan, gaining practical experience and earning a professional certificate in asset management planning. NLCA Build 2025 Expo is taking place May 7-8, 2025, at Jack Byrne Regional Sport and Entertainment Centre. NL's Largest Commercial and Industrial Construction Trade event showcasing the latest equipment advances & newest technology applications in different aspects of the commercial and industrial construction industry. During this two-day event a number of fireside chats will be held, providing opportunities for learning and development. The Central MinEx Mineral Industry Showcase is an initiative by the Gander and Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Town of Gander. This conference and trade show event will promote exciting dialogue featuring industry thought leaders, technical experts, suppliers and the local business community to exchange ideas and ignite new opportunities in the mineral exploration and development sector. The conference program features a Trade Show, Prospectors’ Tent, Core Shack, and Networking Events.

The conference and trade show is scheduled May 13-15, 2025 at Steele Community Centre 155 Airport Boulevard Gander, NL.
