***NEW*** The PEGNL Board of Directors Election is open. Members have now received an email from the election system provider, with instructions on how to vote. Voting is open until April 30, 2026.
PEGNL will be holding its Annual General Meeting virtually on May 8, 2026 from 12:00pm – 2:00pm NDT. Registration details will be provided at a later date for those who wish to attend. Submissions to the AGM agenda are due April 17, 2026, the form with which to note your proposed AGM agenda item and member support can be found here.
WISE NL is accepting Student applications for the 2026 Student Summer Employment Program (SSEP). SSEP is 7-week paid work opportunity open to female Grade 11 students across Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as Grade 10 students in Labrador. Students gain STEM-related work experience, go on workplace tours and join in on fun networking and social events! To learn more click here. Applications are open until Friday, April 17, 2026.

***NEW*** The ASHRAE Halifax Chapter is excited to announce their first ASHRAE Newfoundland and Labrador Section event! Christopher DesRoches will be the Distinguished Lecturer giving a talk about Fuel-Switching Hydronic Systems with Air-to-Water Heat Pumps. ***NEW*** On April 13, 2026, learn about the Atlantic Immigrant Career Loan Fund (AICLF). This ISANS-led initiative can help immigrants with permanent resident status or Canadian citizenship obtain training and certification in their chosen fields or related fields in their new home provinces. Register for the event here, for the one-hour webinar at 2:30pm. Registration deadline is 5:30pm April 10th.
Energy NL's Conference & Exhibition will take place June 2 to 4, 2026, at the St. John's Convention Centre, St. John's, NL. PEGNL will be attending as an exhibitor and welcome the opportunity to continue our outreach efforts with stakeholder groups.
The Central MinEx Mineral Industry Showcase is an initiative by the Gander and Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Town of Gander. This conference and trade show event will promote exciting dialogue featuring industry thought leaders, technical experts, suppliers and the local business community to exchange ideas and ignite new opportunities in the mineral exploration and development sector. The conference program features a Trade Show, Prospectors’ Tent, Core Shack, and Networking Events.
The conference and trade show is scheduled April 20 - 23, 2026 at Steele Community Centre 155 Airport Boulevard Gander, NL.

Engineers Canada has partnered with the Canadian Coalition of Women in Engineering, Science, Trades and Technology (CCWESTT), the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), and the Office to Advance Women Apprentices - Alberta, to host this year's CCWESTT Conference, replacing Engineers Canada's annual 30 by 30 Conference. A unique opportunity to connect with peers and leaders from across engineering, share lessons learned with colleagues in other STEM industries, and explore practical strategies for advancing equity and inclusion in the profession. Municipalities Newfoundland & Labrador's 2026 Municipal Symposium registration is open. Scheduled May 7 to 9, in Gander, the Municipal Symposium presents best practices in the municipal sector, with an emphasis on professional development sessions to build capacity in the municipal sector, in addition to informational updates from key partners and stakeholders.
