***NEW*** Reminder the PEGNL Board of Directors Election is open. Members have received an email from the election system provider, with instructions on how to vote. Voting is open until June 4, 2025.


***NEW*** Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO) published its fifth article supporting PGO's 25th anniversary article series. The article is titled "Volunteers - The Lifeblood of Our Organization". This article was prepared by a committee of volunteers from PGO working to plan a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Professional Geoscientists Act on June 6, 2025. PEGNL will be holding its Annual General Meeting virtually on June 13, 2025 from 12:00pm – 2:00pm NDT. Registration details have been emailed to members. Submissions to the AGM agenda are due May 23, 2025, the form with which to note your proposed AGM agenda item and member support can be found here.


Signal Hill Campus Conference and Event Services. The Johnson Geo Centre and the Emera Innovation Exchange, Memorial University's Signal Hill Campus, offer meeting space at a discounted price for PEGNL members. The Johnson Geo Centre provides space for meetings and receptions for up to 400 people. While the Emera Innovation Exchange (EIX) has 9 customizable seminar rooms to suit all purposes for groups from 2-30 people. Ideal for one-on-one interviews, online meetings, lunch-and-learns, think-tank sessions, small workshops and more.

Special rates are available to PEGNL members (individual and corporate) until March 2026. 10% off all bookings at Johnson Geo Centre, 10% off half and full day rates for seminar rooms and the multi-function room at EIX. Hire a Memorial Engineering Co-op Student. Memorial University engineering students are still available for four-month work terms starting this May. Hiring a co-op student provides valuable support for your organization while giving students hands-on industry experience. If your organization is interested in hiring a student, please contact the Engineering Co-operative Education Office at coopeng@mun.ca to post a position. Learn more about the program here: Engineering Co-op Program Information.

The National Resources Training Group (NRTG) provides professional development training programs across multiple environmental industries, ensuring individuals gain hands-on practical knowledge and well-rounded skill sets to achieve successful and rewarding careers in natural resources. Their programs continuously evolve and go through an ongoing review process, which ensures training programs stay current and responsive to evolving environmental needs and industry standards. Energy NL's Conference & Exhibition will take place June 3 to 5, 2025, at the St. John's Convention Centre, St. John's, NL. PEGNL will be attending as an exhibitor and welcome the opportunity to continue our outreach efforts with stakeholder groups.
