***NEW*** Call for Volunteers. The 2025 FIRST Robotics Newfoundland and Labrador Annual Provincial Championship is taking place December 6, 2025 and volunteers are needed to help run this year's competition! This event brings together around 300 students, representing over 30 teams, for a robotics competition where the top teams may earn themselves a seat at an international robotics competition! If you are interested in volunteering, click here for further information.


The ASHRAE Halifax Chapter has established a Newfoundland and Labrador Section to better serve its Newfoundland and Labrador members and regional Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) industries. This Section will be technical focused and will offer a variety of programs for the local industry, including: technical and research talks, technical field trips, joint meetings, panel forums, seminars, and co-sponsored conferences. Please contact the NL Section officers if you would like to attend or sponsor any of our future events.

***NEW*** The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Atlantic Canada Section is hosting a distinguished lecturer guest Wednesday November 5, 2025 12:00pm to 1:00pm at the S. J. The National Resources Training Group (NRTG) provides professional development training programs across multiple environmental industries, ensuring individuals gain hands-on practical knowledge and well-rounded skill sets to achieve successful and rewarding careers in natural resources. Their programs continuously evolve and go through an ongoing review process, which ensures training programs stay current and responsive to evolving environmental needs and industry standards. This fall, CLIMAtlantic will host a three-part webinar series exploring how you can put nature and climate first in everyday decision making. They will cover how to prioritize nature in adaptation work and share examples from across Atlantic Canada. The November webinar titled "Healthy Ecosystems and Human Activity: Chignecto Case Study", will explore the Chignecto corridor projects as a case study on habitat connectivity, monitoring and stewardship in Atlantic Canada’s vital wildlife corridor. Newfoundland and Labrador's Premier Mineral Exploration and Mining Conference and Exhibition is taking place November 4 to 7, 2025 at the Delta Hotel, St. John’s. A collaborative event between the Newfoundland and Labrador Branch of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) and the Department of Industry, Energy and Technology, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. The Climate Risk Institute is hosting an inaugural webinar series to mark the official launch of Advancing Implementation in Canada’s Natural Resource Sectors — a free, online peer learning community dedicated to advancing climate change adaptation implementation in practice. As the group’s first offering, the series provides a unique opportunity for professionals across forestry, mining and energy sectors to both share their own experiences and learn from others’ real-world approaches to adaptation implementation.
