Centered around empowerment, equity, and innovation, this will be a curated, high-impact leadership day with community-rooted speakers and workshops. ***NEW*** The Canadian Engineering Qualifications Board (CEQB) is seeking two forward-thinking engineers from industry to join its Foresight Committee, a dynamic group dedicated to identifying the emerging challenges and opportunities that will influence engineering regulation over the next 5 to 10 years. Committee insights will help guide national conversations, inform the CEQB’s future work, and ensure the profession remains resilient and responsive in a rapidly changing world. ***NEW*** Engineers Canada is now accepting award nominations. Each year, Engineers Canada recognizes engineers and engineering students for their exceptional work in the engineering community through their awards program. The various categories highlight important contributions in engineering, engineering education, community involvement, the advancement of women in engineering and significant accomplishments in engineering. Nominations for the 2026 Engineers Canada Awards program is now open until January 16, 2026. For more information click here.


***NEW*** Save the date, WISE NL’s 2025 Annual General Meeting is scheduled Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the S.J. Carew Building (EN-4000) Memorial University (Zoom option is also available). The event will feature Dr. Svetlana Barkanova who is a Professor of Physics at Memorial University of Newfoundland (Grenfell Campus) and the NSERC Chair for Inclusion in Science and Engineering (Atlantic Region). In celebration of the year 2025 being declared by UNESCO as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, Dr Barkanova’s talk will outline the significance of the research that earned the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physics. Call for Volunteers. The 2025 FIRST Robotics Newfoundland and Labrador Annual Provincial Championship is taking place December 6, 2025 and volunteers are needed to help run this year's competition! This event brings together around 300 students, representing over 30 teams, for a robotics competition where the top teams may earn themselves a seat at an international robotics competition! If you are interested in volunteering, click here for further information.

***NEW*** Memorial University’s Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science is running a workshop “Go ENG Girl” November 29, 2025. This workshop is offered at no charge to female identifying youths in grades 7-10. The day will be filled with hands-on activities, a variety of engineering experiences, information sessions and the opportunity to learn what a career in engineering might offer. Guardians are welcome to stay for the first few sessions to learn more about Engineering at Memorial and take part in some of the activities. To register click here.


The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Atlantic Canada Section is hosting a distinguished lecturer guest Wednesday November 5, 2025 12:00pm to 1:00pm at the S. J. The National Resources Training Group (NRTG) provides professional development training programs across multiple environmental industries, ensuring individuals gain hands-on practical knowledge and well-rounded skill sets to achieve successful and rewarding careers in natural resources. Their programs continuously evolve and go through an ongoing review process, which ensures training programs stay current and responsive to evolving environmental needs and industry standards. This fall, CLIMAtlantic will host a three-part webinar series exploring how you can put nature and climate first in everyday decision making. They will cover how to prioritize nature in adaptation work and share examples from across Atlantic Canada. The November webinar titled "Healthy Ecosystems and Human Activity: Chignecto Case Study", will explore the Chignecto corridor projects as a case study on habitat connectivity, monitoring and stewardship in Atlantic Canada’s vital wildlife corridor. Newfoundland and Labrador's Premier Mineral Exploration and Mining Conference and Exhibition is taking place November 4 to 7, 2025 at the Delta Hotel, St. John’s.
