***NEW*** CLIMAtlantic Inc. is planning to host a series of 30-minute webinars / lunch and learns over the fall and winter. They are reaching out to gather input on the climate change adaptation topics that interest or concern you most, so they can tailor the series to your needs. They are also looking for your preferred time and day for these monthly webinars to make them as convenient as possible. Please submit your feedback by September 16 via the survey here.


The Government of Canada has launched a selection process for the position of Chairperson of the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA) Board of Directors. The Government of Canada is seeking applications from qualified, diverse, and talented individuals to fill this position. Join us as DiversityNL facilitates a session on, “YOUR role in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging” Wednesday, September 18, 2024, 12:00-1:30 PM NST. This is session 2 in a 3-part education series held virtually through Zoom (Zoom meeting details have been sent to all members).

This session defines the concepts of DEIB and what we can do as allies and accomplices in creating safer and brave spaces. We will discuss the benefits of DEIB and how we need to shift our perspectives to be able to call out and call in when microaggressions happen in the workplace. Explore YOUR role in allyship and beyond.

***NEW*** The St. John’s engineering and business community welcomes Engineers Without Borders CEO, Brian Harrigan on October 17th 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Theatre Hill Bar + Café, 390 Duckworth Street St. John's, NL A1C 1H8. Brian Harrigan, EWB’s CEO will share the new vision and direction of EWB Canada and provide an update on an ambitious and significant project, Engineering Brighter Tomorrows, in Zambia and Malawi focused on tailored solar energy solutions- and digital equity- for health care and education transformations that will lift entire communities and save lives. Climate Risk Institute offers training and professional development courses that will be of interest for engineers involved in the planning, design, procurement, operation and management of natural and built infrastructure.
