***NEW*** PEGNL is pleased to announce that Janet Bradshaw, P. Eng., FEC, Geoff Emberley, P. Eng., FEC and Steve McLean, P. Eng., FEC, have been awarded an Honorary Fellowship with Geoscientists Canada! The Geoscientists Canada Honorary Fellowship honours individuals who have given noteworthy service to the geoscience profession. Each having served for many years in the position of CEO & Registrar of PEGNL, as well as in other volunteer capacities.

The Government of Canada has launched a selection process for the position of Chairperson of the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA) Board of Directors. The Government of Canada is seeking applications from qualified, diverse, and talented individuals to fill this position. ***NEW*** Engineering Family Day! This Saturday September 21, 2024 (9:30am to 5:00pm NDT) the Johnson Geo Centre is hosting Family Day, an opportunity to discover the diverse world of engineering. Memorial’s engineering students from various disciplines will be hosting exciting workshops for all ages. An opportunity to learn, explore, and get inspired!


Community Sector Council of Newfoundland and Labrador (CSCNL) is partnering with the Cardiovascular & Stroke Provincial Program and Well Being NL to host the Community Well-Being Fair, A Time for Health (a celebration of culture, community & connection) and launch Well Being Week in Newfoundland & Labrador. The St. John’s engineering and business community welcomes Engineers Without Borders CEO, Brian Harrigan on October 17th 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Theatre Hill Bar + Café, 390 Duckworth Street St. John's, NL A1C 1H8. Brian Harrigan, EWB’s CEO will share the new vision and direction of EWB Canada and provide an update on an ambitious and significant project, Engineering Brighter Tomorrows, in Zambia and Malawi focused on tailored solar energy solutions- and digital equity- for health care and education transformations that will lift entire communities and save lives. Climate Risk Institute offers training and professional development courses that will be of interest for engineers involved in the planning, design, procurement, operation and management of natural and built infrastructure.
