***NEW*** The Government of Canada is pleased to launch a call for proposals to develop and pilot a national-scale Coastal Communities Adaptation Toolkit under Natural Resources Canada’s Climate-Resilient Coastal Communities (CRCC) Program. The CRCC Program supports accelerating adaptation actions to enhance the climate resilience of communities and businesses in coastal regions across Canada.

The Toolkit aims to provide coordinated and curated access to coastal adaptation resources and tools that support informed climate-resilient decision making and actions. The deadline to apply is November 15, 2024. For more information, visit the CRCC webpage and contact adaptation@nrcan-rncan.gc.ca to request the proposal guidelines and templates.

PEGNL is pleased to announce that Janet Bradshaw, P. Eng., FEC, Geoff Emberley, P. Eng., FEC and Steve McLean, P. Eng., FEC, have been awarded an Honorary Fellowship with Geoscientists Canada! The Geoscientists Canada Honorary Fellowship honours individuals who have given noteworthy service to the geoscience profession. Each having served for many years in the position of CEO & Registrar of PEGNL, as well as in other volunteer capacities.

The Government of Canada has launched a selection process for the position of Chairperson of the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA) Board of Directors. The Government of Canada is seeking applications from qualified, diverse, and talented individuals to fill this position. The St. John’s engineering and business community welcomes Engineers Without Borders CEO, Brian Harrigan on October 17th 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Theatre Hill Bar + Café, 390 Duckworth Street St. John's, NL A1C 1H8. Brian Harrigan, EWB’s CEO will share the new vision and direction of EWB Canada and provide an update on an ambitious and significant project, Engineering Brighter Tomorrows, in Zambia and Malawi focused on tailored solar energy solutions- and digital equity- for health care and education transformations that will lift entire communities and save lives.
