Member-in-Training Extension Request Form

In accordance with Section 12 of The Engineers and Geoscientists Regulations, 2024 "A person shall not remain on the register as a member-in-training for a period of more than 6 years unless otherwise approved by the board."
If you need to request an extension to the 6 year limit, you may do so by submitting this form.
You must be an active Member-in-Training with PEGNL to request an extension.

You must provide an estimate of how long you will need to complete the professional licensure requirements (Example: 6 months, 1 year, etc.). Indefinite extensions will not be granted.
You must provide a reason for why you are requesting an extension. Examples include: "I only have 3 years of experience"; "I have been completing a graduate degree and only have 2 years of experience.; "I am on parental leave"; "I am on medical leave"; "I have not yet acquired all competencies. I have developed a plan with my supervisor to meet the remaining competency requirements and estimate it will take 6 months to do so.".
