The Company Administrator for the Permit to Practice is PEGNL's point of contact regarding the permit, and their email address is tied to the Permit account on PEGNL's online portal. Password resets and all notices regarding renewals and expired insurance certificates will be sent to the Company Administrator email address. Failure to respond to these notices may result in suspension of the permit to practice.

LICENSE HOLDER AND MEMBER IN RESPONSIBLE CHARGE (MIRC) INFORMATION

The Engineers and Geoscientists Regulations, 2024 require that a permit holder appoint at least one Member in Responsible Charge (MIRC). The MIRC is responsible for ensuring the practice of engineering or geoscience performed by the permit holder is in accordance with the Act, the Regulations, the By-Laws, and generally accepted standards of practice. For an engineering permit, the MIRC must be a P. Eng. or Eng. L., and for a geoscience permit the MIRC must be a P. Geo. or Geo. L.
Members in Responsible Charge are reminded that if they accept responsibility for more than one permit, they are bound by the Code of Ethics to disclose these arrangements to each organization involved.
Please enter the Member in Responsible Charge's information. The MIRC must provide a signed declaration and a resume or CV. The Company Administrator may add additional MIRCs on the permit portal after permit approval.

In addition to the MIRC(s) listed, all other Engineers and Geoscientists practicing with the permit holder in Newfoundland and Labrador must be registered with PEGNL. If any such Engineer or Geoscientist working with your organization is not registered with PEGNL, they must immediately apply for individual licensure.

PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE

All permit to practice holders must carry professional liability insurance in accordance with section 12.(3) of the Engineers and Geoscientists Act 2008. Details of the insurance requirement are laid out in PEGNL By-Law No. 2. Insurance certificate examples are available for reference.

DECLARATION BY CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO) OR EQUIVALENT OR AUTHORIZED DESIGNATE

I, as the Chief Executive Officer or equivalent or authorized designate, have authority and undertake to maintain an organization in which the practice of the professions can be conducted in accordance with the requirements described in the Engineers and Geoscientists Act, 2008, Engineers and Geoscientists Regulations, 2024 and PEGNL By-Laws, including, but not limited to ensuring that:
(a) all practicing professionals are licensed with PEGNL; and
(b) restricted engineering and geoscience titles are only assigned, and professional designations are only used, by those employees duly licensed by PEGNL.
I further undertake:
(a) To notify PEGNL in writing within fifteen (15) days if any of the members in responsible charge who have assumed responsibility for the professional practice cease to be employees of the applicant or cease to assume responsibility.
(b) To assume responsibility and designate specific signing authority within the organization for matters to be addressed by the Chief Executive Officer (or equivalent) or designate who signs the Application for Permit to Practice on behalf of the Permit Holder.
(c) To surrender permit stamps and certificates to PEGNL in circumstances where there are not licensees of PEGNL assuming responsibility for the professional practice of the applicant.
(d) To report on an annual basis the names of:
a. Chief Executive Officer (or equivalent) or designate taking corporate responsibility for the applicant.
b. PEGNL members in responsible charge assuming responsibility for direction of the professional practice of the applicant.
