Reporting directly to the Director, Professional Standards, the Professional Standards Coordinator ensures legislative compliance, that members are practicing ethically and competently, and that professional standards and guidelines are developed and enforced. The Energy NL-Hibernia Scholarship Fund was established to commemorate 1997, a landmark year when the Hibernia project was successfully completed, hauled out to sea, and started drawing oil. Presented annually, and designed to foster the bright minds that will shape the future of our industry, the award provides $1,000 to a graduating high school student in Newfoundland and Labrador who is entering post-secondary studies with the intention of pursuing an energy-related career. Applications are reviewed by Energy NL’s selection committee and the award is presented to the applicant who best meets the academic and extra-curricular criteria. ***NEW*** The 34th Annual Newfoundland Electrical and Computer Engineering Conference (NECEC), will take place on November 12, 2026, at the Holiday Inn St. John’s Conference Centre in St. John’s. The conference brings together researchers, engineers, students, industry professionals, startups, and technical teams to share innovation, applied research, and engineering work across Newfoundland and Labrador. Newfoundland and Labrador's Premier Mineral Exploration and Mining Conference and Exhibition is taking place November 3 to 6, 2026 at the Delta Hotel, St. John’s.
