***NEW*** The PEGNL Board of Directors Election will open soon. In the forthcoming week, members will receive an email from the election system provider Simply Voting, presenting this year's candidates and instructions on how to vote. Voting will be open until June 4, 2025.


***NEW*** Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO) published its fourth article supporting PGO's 25th anniversary article series. The article is titled "The Future of Professional Geoscience: Perspectives from Students, GITs and Early Career Professionals". This article was prepared by a committee of volunteers from PGO working to plan a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Professional Geoscientists Act on June 6, 2025. ***NEW*** WinSETT (Women in Science, Engineering, Trades and Technology) is currently seeking candidates to fill vacant position on their volunteer working board of directors. They are looking for candidates who identify as feminist, share a passion for their vision, have a history of relationship-building and would like to enhance their board experience. They strive for a board that represents all sectors - science, engineering, trades and technology and the regions across Canada. A global partnership between the PMI Chapters of Ireland and Newfoundland & Labrador, brought together international expertise in offshore energy and project management to present the first construction event of the year "From Grid to Growth – Offshore Energy Projects", during which the future of offshore energy and its impact on growth and innovation are explored. NLCA Build 2025 Expo is taking place May 7-8, 2025, at Jack Byrne Regional Sport and Entertainment Centre. NL's Largest Commercial and Industrial Construction Trade event showcasing the latest equipment advances & newest technology applications in different aspects of the commercial and industrial construction industry. During this two-day event a number of fireside chats will be held, providing opportunities for learning and development. The Central MinEx Mineral Industry Showcase is an initiative by the Gander and Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Town of Gander. This conference and trade show event will promote exciting dialogue featuring industry thought leaders, technical experts, suppliers and the local business community to exchange ideas and ignite new opportunities in the mineral exploration and development sector. The conference program features a Trade Show, Prospectors’ Tent, Core Shack, and Networking Events.
