***NEW*** Join us as DiversityNL facilitates a session on, “YOUR role in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging” Wednesday, September 18, 2024, 12:00-1:30 PM NST. This is session 2 in a 3-part education series held virtually through Zoom (Zoom meeting details have been sent to all members).

This session defines the concepts of DEIB and what we can do as allies and accomplices in creating safer and brave spaces. We will discuss the benefits of DEIB and how we need to shift our perspectives to be able to call out and call in when microaggressions happen in the workplace. Explore YOUR role in allyship and beyond.


Memorial University’s Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science presents a Peter Kohler Engineering Scholarship opportunity for incoming Engineering One Students for Fall 2024. A significant scholarship, in the amount of $50,000. Recipients must meet the minimum academic requirements for a scholarship as defined by Memorial University of Newfoundland. The Climate Risk Institute (CRI) and Engineers and Geoscientists BC are currently seeking Technical Committee members to support the development of a Climate Resiliency Training Program for Building Sector Professionals. The training will be developed for engineers, architects, building scientists, planners, policy makers and procurement professionals in Canada involved in planning, designing and constructing new and existing Part 3 buildings. The Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) student and early career programs provide essential tools and resources that prepare students and young professionals for successful academic and long-term careers in geophysics. Climate Risk Institute offers training and professional development courses that will be of interest for engineers involved in the planning, design, procurement, operation and management of natural and built infrastructure.

Conference for Women in Engineering & Technology is scheduled for October 24th to 26th, a three-day flagship event by the Society of Women Engineers which offers opportunities to engage in networking, gain career insights, and connect with industry leaders on innovation.
