***NEW*** Memorial University, Faculty of Medicine is recruiting volunteers to take part in Medical School Interviews for 2026. Without volunteer involvement and commitment, the Faculty would be unable to complete a vital component in the evaluation of medical school applications that is necessary to determine the next class of matriculants at Memorial University’s medical school. Interviews for medical school applicants will be taking place virtually on Saturday, January 17th and Sunday, January 18th, 2026 (volunteers select one day). ***NEW*** The Office of the City Clerk is accepting applications for one volunteer for Environmental and Sustainability Experts Panel membership. This Panel provides City Council with expertise, opinion, and perspective about environmental and sustainability matters, including the City of St. John’s energy intensity, greenhouse gas emissions, adaptation, resilience, energy poverty, and environment. Additionally, the Panel is responsible for assisting in the progress of environmental and sustainability matters in the City of St. John’s. One representative with expertise in the following areas are required, Resilience and Natural Resources - to support the City in protecting and conserving ecosystems and natural resources now and into the future.

Experts Panel member roles, responsibilities, and length of term are set according to the Panel’s Terms of Reference, which can be found on the City’s website. To apply, fill out our online application form. The deadline for submission of applications is Sunday, December 21, 2025.

Camp 20 – Volunteer Wardens Needed. Camp 20 is a not-for-profit organization that organizes the Ritual of the Calling of an Engineer (Iron Ring Ceremony) in Newfoundland & Labrador. The organization is seeking new wardens to replace those whose terms have ended. Requirements of volunteers include, be an obligated engineer, able to attend the Iron Ring Ceremony (typically March or April) and a commitment to attend 4–6 planning meetings annually (virtual or in-person). If you are interested, please send your resume and a letter of interest to camp20@corp.ironring.ca. For more details, visit: https://camp20.ironring.ca.


MUN Engineering Students looking for work term placements. The Memorial University Engineering Co-operative Education Office wishes to advise that job competition for the Winter 2026 work term is open. A Winter 2026 engineering co-op student (January 5 – May 1) brings energy, curiosity, and hands-on help right when workload increases. NordSpace Atlantic Corporation has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) seeking qualified civil engineering consulting firms to provide professional services for the design of a 5.5‑kilometre Class B gravel forest standard access road serving the Atlantic Spaceport Complex’s (ASX)Space Launch Complex-01 (SLC-01) proposed to be developed at Sauker Head, near St. Lawrence, Newfoundland and Labrador. Further information is noted within the RFP cover letter and the request for proposal document. Reference to construction standards for resource access roads in Newfoundland and Labrador can be accessed on the Government website, or via the following link. The Google Earth KMZ file, referenced within the RFP will be provided upon requests made to pegnl@pegnl.ca.


Reminder: Annual Renewal for PEGNL license holders is open. Members can log in to PEGNL’s online member portal (members.pegnl.ca) and complete their annual renewal for 2026. All PEGNL members are eligible to participate in various plans through Engineers Canada, these include insurance, financial and other benefits. For more information click here.


Women of STAC Bursary Fund, 2026 Application Period is open.

Awarded each year to select women, the Bursary Fund, provides financial support to enable the pursuit of training, professional development, and/or academic programs for women in the telecommunications field. Deadline to apply is February 27, 2026.


PEGNL is looking for experienced professionals to help review the experience of those applying for licensure by serving as Volunteer Assessors in the Competency Based Assessment (CBA) framework. While all areas of expertise are welcome, we are looking for additional assessors with experience in mechanical engineering. If you have been licensed for at least 5 years and are interested in learning more about becoming an assessor, please apply on our website.

Engineers Canada is accepting award nominations. Each year, Engineers Canada recognizes engineers and engineering students for their exceptional work in the engineering community through their awards program. The various categories highlight important contributions in engineering, engineering education, community involvement, the advancement of women in engineering and significant accomplishments in engineering.
