***NEW*** MUN Engineering Students looking for work term placements. The Memorial University Engineering Co-operative Education Office wishes to advise that job competition for the Winter 2025 work term is entering its final stages. Organizations that have a need for the next four months and could benefit from the skills of a student are asked to contact the Engineering Co-operative Education Office at coopeng@mun.ca to post a position or to learn more about the program.
***NEW*** Climate Risk Institute (CRI) and Royal Road University by Design (RbD) Lab are collaborating on the initiative CanAdapt. A platform of peer networks for practitioners, professionals and others across all sectors who are working towards adapting to the effects of climate change and reducing carbon pollution. CanAdapt is currently in its beta stage, with a planned launch for early 2025.
CanAdapt is accepting applications to join the Expert Steering Committees for their new Energy Practitioner Network and Mining Practitioner Network. The deadline to apply is January 17, 2025, for more information click here.
***NEW*** February 8, 2025, the MUN Student Engineering Society is hosting its 17th annual Charity Ball. This year it is in support of Choices for Youth and The Community Food Sharing Association. The ball will be held at the Johnson Geo Centre, for more information, please click here.
Women of STAC Bursary Fund, 2025 Application Period now open.
Awarded each year to select women, the Bursary Fund, provides financial support to enable the pursuit of training, professional development, and/or academic programs for women in the telecommunications field. Deadline to apply is February 24, 2025.
Engineers Canada is accepting award nominations. Each year, Engineers Canada recognizes engineers and engineering students for their exceptional work in the engineering community through their awards program. The various categories highlight important contributions in engineering, engineering education, community involvement, the advancement of women in engineering and significant accomplishments in engineering. Nominations for the 2024 Engineers Canada Awards program is now open until January 17, 2025. For more information visit engineerscanada.ca/awards.

Climate Risk Institute’s credentials address the vital link between climate change and infrastructure and provide a customizable learning experience for infrastructure practitioners to build the knowledge and skills that will contribute to a more resilient future.
The Infrastructure Resilience Professional Credential and the Infrastructure and Climate Resilience Planning Micro-Credential are designed to equip all infrastructure practitioners with the expertise required to tackle climate change challenges. Over a series of courses led by industry experts, you will have the opportunity to enhance your skills in climate risk assessment, policy development, communication, climate science, planning and implementation, and resilient design. Choose from several electives to tailor your learning to your areas of interest and focus. The Micro-credential is ideal for a diverse range of infrastructure professionals of all backgrounds and professions, including planners, engineering technicians, architects, asset managers, and others involved in climate risk assessment, adaptation planning, and management.

On January 13th, learn about the Atlantic Immigrant Career Loan Fund (AICLF). This ISANS-led initiative can help immigrants with permanent resident status or Canadian citizenship obtain training and certification in their chosen fields or related fields in their new home provinces.
