***NEW*** Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO) published an article titled "Professional Geoscientists - Their Importance In Public Protection & The Future of Geoscience". This article was prepared by a committee of volunteers from PGO working to plan a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Professional Geoscientists Act on June 6, 2025. ***NEW*** Engineers Canada is seeking proposals from firms or individual consultants to support the review of Engineers Canada’s governance system and to support the adoption of proposed changes that are endorsed by all 12 engineering regulators. Further information is available here. All responses must be submitted by February 23, 2025.
***NEW*** WaterPower Canada (WPC) announces Dragon’s Dam Student Competition. WPC invites students in Canadian Engineering programs to showcase their creativity, innovation, and problem-solving abilities. The Dragon’s Dam competition invites students to submit solutions to real-world challenges related to hydropower. Short-listed teams will be invited to present their solutions at WPC’s national conference in Ottawa, and will compete for prizes, including a $5,000 grand prize. This year’s theme — Design Your Future! — is about celebrating today’s achievements and paving the way for a brighter and more diverse future in engineering. The application process for Memorial University’s Faculty of Engineering Winter Scholarships is now open. To apply for Engineering One, Term 5 or Term 8 scholarships for Winter 2025 click here. Application are open until Friday, January 31, 2025.
The application process for Engineers Canada’s 2025 scholarships is now open! Each year, Engineers Canada offers scholarships in three categories: undergraduate engineering students, engineers studying at the graduate level in engineering, and engineers studying at the graduate level in an area other than engineering. In total, Engineers Canada awards 14 scholarships totaling over $90,000 to engineering students and professional engineers returning to university. The deadline for applications is March 17, 2025 and scholarship recipients will be announced in June. Click here for more information.
WISE NL is now accepting applications for Supervisors for the Summer Student Employment Program (SSEP). Supervisors have the opportunity to hire female high school students who are interested in pursuing careers in science, engineering, mathematics, medicine, or technology at no financial cost!
