Annual Renewal for PEGNL license holders is open. Members can log in to PEGNL’s online member portal (members.pegnl.ca) and complete their annual renewal for 2024.


***NEW***  Engineers Canada is now accepting award nominations. Each year, Engineers Canada recognizes engineers and engineering students for their exceptional work in the engineering community through their awards program. The various categories highlight important contributions in engineering, engineering education, community involvement, the advancement of women in engineering and significant accomplishments in engineering. Nominations for the 2024 Engineers Canada Awards program is now open until January 12, 2024. For more information visit https://engineerscanada.ca/awards


***NEW*** Gardiner Centre has released their 2024 winter open enrollment schedule. Courses can be taken in-person at their Signal Hill Campus, or online. To view their full course and program schedule click here.

***NEW*** This winter, the MUN Student Engineering Society is hosting its 16th annual Charity Ball. This year it is in support of the Alzheimer’s Society of Newfoundland and Labrador and The Blue Door Program, and the ball will be held on February 2nd, 2024, at Bally Haly Country Club. ***NEW***  FIRST Robotics NL is organizing the Annual Newfoundland and Labrador FIRST LEGO League Robotics Championship in partnership with the Skills Canada Intermediate Challenge (SCIC). The event will occur on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the College of the North Atlantic (Prince Philip Drive Campus). For more information visit https://firstroboticsnl.org/events/


***NEW*** Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador will be hosting the Canadian Engineering Leadership Conference (CELC), January 1st – 7th, 2024 in St. John’s, NL. This is the largest annual, student-run event in Canada. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in multiple streams of themed programming each day, including the Engineering Society Stream, Leadership Stream, and Equitable Engineering Stream. This programming will support the main theme for the 2024 conference “Equitable Engineering: Building the skills to build a better world.” For more information visit https://celc.cfes.ca/


Through Geoscientists Canada, PEGNL has acquired a professional development opportunity which
allows all our members FREE access to Geologize’s critically acclaimed course ‘Practical Geocommunication.’ The 10-hr Practical Geocommunication course provides valuable communication tips and strategies for members of both professions. Log on to the member portal, then click Events in the blue bar to find more details and to register for the course.
