The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, and the School of Mining & Petroleum Engineering, at the University of Alberta is currently assessing interest and demand in an online course, Master of Engineering (MEng) Degree Program. Feedback is requested from potential students and employers on this potential new program offering. If you have 2 minutes, please consider filling out the survey.

***NEW*** FIRST Robotics NL is organizing the Annual Newfoundland and Labrador FIRST LEGO League Robotics Championship in partnership with the Skills Canada Intermediate Challenge (SCIC).
The event will occur on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the College of the North Atlantic (Prince Philip Drive Campus)


 

***NEW*** Through Geoscientists Canada, PEGNL has acquired a professional development opportunity which
allows all our members FREE access to Geologize’s critically acclaimed course ‘Practical Geocommunication.’ The 10-hr Practical Geocommunication course provides valuable communication tips and strategies for members of both professions. Log on to the member portal, then click Events in the blue bar to find more details and to register for the course.


 

Phil Helwig, P. Eng. (Retired) has published a paper titled “The Story of Grand Bay Bridge and its Demise” through The Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC). The paper is available here. Readers are invited to send comments or recollections of the area, the people and the bridge project to Mr. Helwig at hydrophil2003@yahoo.ca


The Great Northern Concrete Toboggan Race (GNCTR) is the oldest and largest engineering student design competition in Canada. MUN has won the bid to host the 2024 competition on its 50th anniversary of the competition and the first time it will be hosted in Atlantic Canada. The concrete toboggan technical exhibit will take place in St. John's on Feb 9th, 2024 and the race will be located at White Hills, Clarenville on Feb 10th, 2024. MUN Engineering Alumni volunteer group, the GNCTR organizing committee is asking for support from the local business community to help execute this competition.
