***NEW*** The ASHRAE Halifax Chapter has established a Newfoundland and Labrador Section to better serve its Newfoundland and Labrador members and regional Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) industries. This Section will be technical focused and will offer a variety of programs for the local industry, including: technical and research talks, technical field trips, joint meetings, panel forums, seminars, and co-sponsored conferences. Please contact the NL Section officers if you would like to attend or sponsor any of our future events.

Geoscientists Canada is pleased to announce the release of the publication, "Insights into the Usage of AI Tools for Professional Geoscientists – Overview and Best Practices". Developed by its dedicated Professional Practice Committee, this resource represents an important step in commitment to providing practical tools and knowledge for the geoscience community. The presentation by Randy Herrmann, P. Eng., FEC, on "Decolonizing Engineering" is now available to members on the PEGNL Learning Platform.
Call for volunteers. PEGNL’s Connections East group are looking for additional volunteers. The group formed by volunteer engineers and geoscientists, promote professional development, networking, and social opportunities for the license holders in their district. Volunteers are required to aid the existing opportunities being offered throughout 2025 and beyond. Please email east@connectionsnl.ca to express interest in volunteering.

***NEW*** This fall, CLIMAtlantic will host a three-part webinar series exploring how you can put nature and climate first in everyday decision making. They will cover how to prioritize nature in adaptation work and share examples from across Atlantic Canada. The October webinar titled Coastal Adaptation: Protecting Nature and Communities, will explore how coastal adaptation planning and practices conserve nature and increase biodiversity while benefiting both ecosystems and communities.
